So I’m sitting today at $1,300. in a week or so I’ll try to add some more funds and head down to my local brokerage office and deposit the money into my IRA account for 2010. Then the fun begins, trying to make the saved money work for me. I have some ideas so far but nothing I’m all that willing to talk about. Hope your Christmas was as great as mine.

I’m working very hard right now and starting to see some early results with an increase in cash-flow. I’ve been paying bills and getting things back on track at work and home since the new baby came.

The weak spot has been reading, I haven’t read LOS (Law of Success) in about a week so I’m making a concerted effort to get back on pace with daily reading as well, but so far so good. Take care…

Its Monday and I’m back at it. So I’m on track and will finish November with $625 saved so far (on track @$25 a day). I think I still have some serious work to do on cutting some of my expenses though. I’m beginning to realize just how much money gets used up on BS stuff if your not paying attention.

I’m looking forward to a strong finish for the year. And also plan to dedicate some time to a kids related charity for the holidays. I’m not sure which one but I’m looking now. Giving back seems like another thing that just gets talked about, its time for action. I know people need help, especially this time of the year. So I’m gonna push hard, help out and then say goodnight to 2009. I very Blahhh year for me business wise..My new baby boy made it a good one though…TC

Its been hard especially with the holidays coming and my entire family being sick. Its gonna take some effort on my part to stay even through next Monday. Change jars will be emptied, I see it coming but I’m going to stay on track. Next week on Monday I start marketing hard-core at my job so I expect to start bringing in some good money before the Christmas break.

This project is making me look at developing a X-Mas budget so I have a little time to put some money aside and get everything I want for my Wife and kids. We, that’s pretty much it for today, the family is feeling better but my two smallest guys are still a little sick. Should be better in the next few days. Take Care.

I was again reading outliers today, man I love that book. It’s very interesting reading outliers and the Law of Success at the same time. They talk about very similar things from different points of view even though one was written in 1927 and the other a few years ago they’re equally relevant today.

The common link, while it sounds silly and obvious is basically your mind and how you look at the world and the things that happen to you. Basically the glass half empty or half full mindset. I think I’m a very optimistic person but on bad days I might get a touch of the half empty mind-set, then I just think back to Hill’s writing’s that I have total control over everything that I allow to enter my mind so I change what I’m thinking about.

I thought the following quote from Law of Success kind of sums things up for me recently and probably most people who are interested in bettering themselves:

A successful man was asked “What helped you over the great obstacles of life?” He replied “The other obstacles.”

How true is that, you never quite see things the same after you’ve dealt with a heavy situation or problem.I think it’s called growth…

Ok, have some more work to do then heading home to have an awesome weekend with my wife and three boys…..Wow that sounds weird I have three boys…Pray for me…LOL Take care..

Thats what I call a “tough patch”. I took the punch from life and I’m back up swingin, I’m not gonna let this “Life” stuff keep me from my goal. So I’m a few bucks behind now. I have saved $250 so far. I need to regroup and do $50 bucks a day over the next few days to catch up.

Been reading Outliers by Malcom Gladwell, awesome book. I had left the Law of Success at my office where I have not spent much time lately with all the back and forth to the doctors and the vets.

I lost a good little dog named Max last week…..See ya tomorrow.

Didn’t get to read much today, I’m a little sick and my 4-year-old son is sick as well. But I’m going to start now and read for at least 15 minutes the Law of Success before I head home for the day.

Week one+ $175 saved so far…..

Even though this book was written in the 1920′s its amazing just how relevent it is today. Our country’s recent financial crisis is ridden in debt. Our entire economy was based on people gaining value in their real estate and then leveraging the gains to spend more on credit.

Yesterday I said expenses were the key to developing a habit of saving money and they absolutely are, but just as important is the use of credit. I’m trying to decide where i can make the absolute best return on the funds I save without exposing myself to senseless risk. If I knew I could generate 15 to 20% returns in a vehicle I’d invest every dime. That’s basically what the credit card Company’s do to support their existence, and in America we line up to get that credit.

Anyway without going on a rant it just seems amazing as I think about how to get solid returns what people do everyday. I’m looking into to writing covered calls on beaten down stocks as a possible strategy. I used this strategy before to make some very good returns but got enticed to trade. I’m thinking about writing out a disciplined strategy of buying stocks with high cash positions and low debt in sound industry’s and then writing calls on the position. I’ll have more as I do more research but thats the leading idea right now. Unless anyone is planning to start-up a credit card Company.

$125 Saved so far….and I’m cutting my expenses everyday.
